new word: logorrhea

We were discussing academics and academia in class last night (a tangential topic), and the professor coined what he thought was a new word: logorrhea, meaning verbal dirrhea (which he beleives many academics to have, particularly when presenting on conference panels, espeically those associated with the MLA).

Anyway, we looked up 'logorrhea' in the OED this morning. And it was actually there.... "Logorrhea: Excessive volubility accompanying some forms of mental illness; also gen., an excessive flow of words, prolixity."

Ewww! The word itself is enough motivation to take precautions against catching it!
