Almost Halloween

Jimmy and I made a quick trip to the grocery story this evening. As we were wandering the aisles in search of popcorn, we managed to find the Halloween candy. Jimmy made some remark about how Halloween, and I then realized that Halloween in precisely two months away. Isn't it a little early to start with the candy already? Oh well, I guess that's what you get when you have a holiday that celebrates costumes and cavities.

They are hoping to get lots of people to buy their Halloween candy early, take it home, eat it themselves, and have to buy more. They more often this process is repeated, the more money they make! It's good business, but very annoying. I buy mine Halloween night so as not to get suckered into this trap! And then I still have to get the stuff I'm not crazy about so as not to eat too much.

I quit buying Halloween candy several years ago. I buy juice boxes, Capri-Sun drinks, Kool-Aid Squeeze-Its - whichever is cheapest when it's time to buy. If there's any left, I'm not tempted to get into it, and it seems like we always need it for either school or kids sport events. Also, the Trick-or-Treaters love to get something different!
