BOOM!! (Already.)

The 4th of July is a full week away, but the people just down the street have been setting off fireworks already. (I think it's the same people who have the kid with the 4-wheeler.) While I can put up with regular city noises (traffic, sirens, etc.),the booming noises of fireworks are more difficult to tolerate. I think fireworks should be covered under a noise or nuissance ordinance, but I doubt that's the case since fireworks are actually legal within the city limits here (which I think is absolutely wrong!). If they keep going with the fireworks at the current rate, it's going to be a very long week and my nerves might be shot by the end of it....

Even though the fireworks are legal in your city limits, don't they have limited days and times when they can be used? (Like only a day or two before or after the holiday?)

Change of subject - hope you don't mind. But if you like reading lots of books, and one you call a favorite is "Heart Of Darkness", then may I suggest another to try? "Outcasts Of Skagaray". For a preview, so you can decide what you think, there are sample chapters on www.threeswans.com.au
If you want to check my blog, it is http://threeswans.blogspot.com Best wishes.

We have a lot of fireworks going off here in Olsburg, too. The two stands connected with our community both opened this past weekend. The kids that run one of them try to shoot off all their profits every day! I am glad that they get to have fire works though. I always wonder about the kids who shoot off whole packs of Black Jacks at a time. Seems like so little bang for their buck....

It is actually wet enough in Dodge City for them to allow fireworks to be shot off 2 days before and 2 days after, but no stands within city limits.
I've been doping up dogs for a week to hopefully prevent 4-legged panic attacks.
